Jude 1v20: But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.

As a Believer, you need to know why God urges you to do certain things in his word and when it comes to praying in tongues, there is a great significance or importance attached to praying in tongues. Knowing these reasons or benefits will strengthen your resolve to pray more in tongues. From our last lesson, I gave us two out of the several benefits of praying or speaking in tongues, and today, by his grace, I will be sharing more reasons why you need to pray in tongues. I believe you are ready for this, so here we go!

REASONS FOR PRAYING IN TONGUES:

3. Because it gives you the opportunities of speaking solutions or answers to your challenges or needs. How is this so? This is true because when you speak or pray in tongues, you are speaking forth the wisdom of God in mystery. A mystery is a divine secret or truth. This is what the scriptures say in 1Cor. 2 v 6-7. So this means that speaking in tongues is not a waste of time or resources but a good investment of your time. You can get virtually God’s wisdom on any matter through this means. I have also gained God’s wisdom and insight on pressing issues of life praying like this. I am also convinced that you, too, will never be the same in Jesus name.

4. Because it helps you to be sensitive to the Spirit of God. This is one major benefit of speaking or praying in tongues, as it enables you to hear God better. This is one area where many people struggle a lot, i.e. I mean hearing from God, but this can be a thing of the past when you cultivate the habit of praying in tongues. The problem is not that God is not speaking but the real problem is that people are not tuned in to his frequency; therefore, they don’t discern or decode what God is saying. My dear reader, God wants you to know his will in every area of your life, and speaking in tongues is the gateway to this kind of experience. So it’s time to pray in the Spirit. Doing this will help you to be more sensitive and alert to what God is saying or up to in your life and the world (1Cor. 4 v 2; Matt. 11 v 15).

Dearly Beloved, it’s time for you to experience the wonders and bliss of speaking in tongues. May today usher you into a new experience with the Holy Spirit.
