Romans 12 verse 11 (NKJV): not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;

Your fervency is a very important aspect of your spiritual life. This is why we are talking about how to maintain your fervency. By maintaining, I mean sustaining, keeping or preserving something. It’s one thing to be fervent today; it’s another thing to remain fervent. God’s will is for you to remain fervent, as you can see in our text scripture (Rom 12 v 11). Fervency is the state or condition of being fervent while being fervent is to be hot (boiling heat or aglow, i.e., solid). Other meanings of being fervent are being passionate, zealous, or loving someone or something dearly. Acts 18 v 25. In order to understand how to maintain your fervency, it’s important to know some vital truths about your fervency. What are these truths?

TRUTHS ABOUT YOUR FERVENCY

1. God knows the state of your fervency.

He knows whether you are really fervent or not. It’s not something you can conceal from him. The reason why you need to take your fervency very seriously. Rev 3 v 15 – 16

2. Your fervency is subject to change.

It can either go up or down. This is why someone can blossom in fervency or even lose their fervency. Our fervency is very delicate and sensitive. Hence the reason why you need to watch over your fervency. Gal 5 v 7: Col 4 v 13

3. It’s your responsibility to watch over your fervency.

You can’t blame others for the state of your fervency. Whether you will be cold or hot is much more dependent on you. It’s time to stop playing the blame game and start taking responsibility for where you are. 1Cor 11 v 31

4. Your fervency is an indication of your spiritual wellbeing or health.

One way to measure your spiritual health is by checking your fervency. How fervent are you? Once you know how fervent you are, it would be easier to know your state of health, spiritually speaking. Are you willing to step on the scale? In fact, your service to God is measured by your level of fervency. Rev 2 v 4 – 5

5. There are consequences of being fervent and there are also rewards for being fervent.

If you are fervent, you will benefit greatly from it and if you are not fervent, you will suffer for it; it all depends on you. So, my dear brothers and sisters, it all depends on what you really want. I encourage you, however, to choose to be fervent above not being fervent because the blessings far outweigh s the consequences. 1Cor 9 v 27

What is your resolution? Is IT to be fervent or Not to be fervent? I believe you will opt for being fervent! As you maintain your Fervency, I see you blossoming beyond your wildest imagination in Jesus name, amen.
