Numbers 21verse4 ‘And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.’

How would you Score Yourself when it comes to dealing with discouragement? I have discovered that not everyone handles discouragement properly. This is why this series of teachings is coming your way and I also know that your days of serving discouragement are over.
So when discouragement comes, how should I respond to it? I like us to examine some of the ways to handle discouragement:

1. Don’t take discouragement personally or to heart. Always remember that discouragement is temporal and not permanent. It’s a situation and not you. So beginning today, let discouragement go.

2. Learn how to encourage yourself. Choose to encourage yourself in the lord whenever discouragement comes. 1Sam30v6. There is power in encouraging yourself. So why not make this a regular practice?

3. Look at your discouragement with a positive mentality. Choose to see every discouragement as a blessing in disguise. This is the attitude of faith you need towards the discouragement of life. Gen50v20.

4. Make up your mind that discouragement won’t stop you. Refuse to quit or give up. Never say never! Let this be your resolution and determination! Make this quality decision and take ownership of it. God has given you a will; make sure you use it to your advantage. Ps56v4

5. Speak to your mentors or coaches. Never walk alone. Walk in the right company. Walk with the kind of people that can help you subdue your fears and worries. Walk with people who can make you better and stronger. Pro13v20. Do you know that whom you speak to in times of discouragement matters? So it’s time for you to start taking charge of your life! It’s time for you to begin to walk in dominion over your worries and insecurities! I see that moment beginning now!
