1Thessalonians 5verse16: ‘Rejoice evermore.’

The Joy of the Lord is part and parcel of our salvation. It was imparted into our spirits when we were born again. This is why it’s called the joy of our salvation in some places in the Bible. Ps51v12; Isa12v3.The plan of God is for you to be Joyful, which simply means: Full of Joy. This is why he says you need to rejoice evermore or all the time. However, if this will be a reality in your life, there are certain truths that you need to know concerning the Joy of the Lord. This is what I have been sharing with you in this series for some time now and today, by his grace, I will be sharing another powerful one with you. So, if you are ready, here we go!

3. This Joy is an Act. What do I mean by this? Joy is action-oriented. It is not a passive or silent thing. If you really want to walk in the joy of the Lord, you need to know how to activate your joy. If you look at our text scripture (1Thessalonians5verse16), you will see that the onus is you to rejoice. In order words, it’s a command that God wants you to fulfil or obey! So if you will be joyful, it’s up to you! You need to seize the initiative and make the move. So Joy is a decision. Other evidence of this truth is as follows: (Ps33v1:97v12; Philip3v1:4v4)

So my dear brothers and sisters, whether you will be joyful or not actually lies in your hands. So stop postponing your Joy. Take the initiative now! Be deliberate and Intentional with your joy! Learn to rejoice in the Lord on purpose! Whether you feel like it or not, just rejoice. Most of the time you need to start it out by faith or in the flesh; trust me, you will end up in the spirit. Hab3v17-19.
So what are you waiting for? Initiate your joy. Jumpstart it today! Stop waiting for the circumstances to be right. Just do it by faith. When you start living like this, you will begin to experience life on a higher and greater dimension. Are you ready to rejoice? I believe you are ready! May you experience his wonders as you learn to activate your joy in Jesus name, amen.
