2Corinthians5verse18-20 ‘V18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; v19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. V20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.’
Winning souls is our supreme task as believers and it’s something that God wants us to take more seriously. Hence the reason why this series of teachings is coming your way. I pray that the fire of winning souls will be reignited in your spirits and souls in Jesus name, amen. From our last lesson, I shared with you some of the reasons why we need to take this task more seriously. Today by his grace, I will proceed further by sharing more reasons why we need to do this as a matter of urgency. So off we go!
Why Soul Winning is Very Important
4. Because the percentage of believers who are doing this task is small. Like they say, statistics hardly lie. Check out the following statistics about a number of believers who are involved in soul winning:
-97% of church members have no involvement in any sort of Evangelism -Zondervan Church Source
-1% of their Readership had witnessed to someone recently -Christianity Today
So if I may ask you personally, when was the last time you spoke to someone about Jesus? Matt9v37-38
5. Because of the untold millions of people in the world today. This is one of the reasons why we must be soul winners. Not everyone is saved in our world today. So because of several other millions of people out there who have not heard the good news, we ought to take this assignment more seriously. Joe3v14. So my dear reader, are you willing to respond to the great call?
6. Because this is one of the primary reasons why the church exists. The church is supposed to be the place of evangelism. It’s the place where people get saved and also the place through which people get saved. Whether you look at the church from the physical dimension (locality it exists) or the body of believers, the purpose still remains the same. i.e., to win souls to Christ. Acts 2v41-47
So my dear brothers and sisters, as a member of his body, to what extent are you committed to the business of winning souls?

Prayer for Today: Holy Spirit, help me to play my part in the business of winning souls to God in Jesus name amen.
CONFESSION: Heavenly Father, I make a fresh commitment to the business of winning souls. I do away with every form of excuses from henceforth, God is counting on me to fulfill this assignment and in the name of Jesus, I will not fail.
