1 Samuel20verse18: ‘Then Jonathan said to David, Tomorrow is the new moon: and thou shalt be missed, because thy seat will be empty.’
One of the ways by which you can prosper in life is by becoming a value-added person. Becoming a value-added person is such a powerful principle for prevailing in life’s challenges. So are you a value-added person? As you can see from our text scripture (1 Samuel 20verse18) David was a person of high value in the household of King Saul, which was why Jonathan said it would be obvious whenever David was not around. My dear reader, becoming a value-added person will make you relevant for all seasons of life. So how can you know if you are such a kind of person? You can tell by asking yourself the following questions:
-Whose dreams are you interpreting? What made Joseph successful, was the dreams of other people that he interpreted. Gen41v38-39.
-Who is getting better because of you? Acts18v24-28.
-Whose problems are you solving? Daniel was relevant in Babylon because he was a great problem solver.Dan1v17-19.
-What are you bringing to the table? Are you a contributor or a mere consumer?
-Who will miss you when you are not around? 1Samuel20verse18.
–How difficult is it to replace you?
The answers you give to these questions will tell whether you are a valuable person or not! But the good thing about adding value is that you can start at least from where you are and with what you have. So, my dear friends, it’s time for you to get busy! It’s time to begin to make your life count! Before we round up our discussion on this subject, I think it’s important to look at ways of adding value! So how can you add value? You can add value by:
-Knowing what you do best and doing it. Jn8v32.
-Meeting and Exceeding Expectations. Don’t just do what you are told, do more than what you are told.
-Identifying and Solving Problems. Become a Solution Provider. 1Jn2v20.
-Taking Initiatives
-Improving Your Technical and Interpersonal Skills. Dan1v17.
My dear friends, it’s time for you to make your life count by becoming a value-added person. I pray that today will usher you into this new dimension of life in Jesus name amen.
