Eph.1v18: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.

As a believer, you have a rich and glorious inheritance or possessions in Christ. This was what Apostle Paul was about talking in (Eph.1:18). He was praying for our eyes of understanding to be opened to these wealthy possessions. Every serious-minded believer ought to know and be fully aware of the things that they have in Christ. This is part of your redemption package in Christ and part of the New Creation realities that you now have in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17). This is what I will be sharing with you in these series of teachings. These possessions are yours in Christ, and you ought to walk fully in them because this is part and parcel of your redemption. However, before you begin to take full advantage of this inheritance, you need to know them. So what are the things that belong to you in Christ?

YOUR INHERITANCE IN CHRIST:

  1. You have authority in the name of Jesus. The name of the Lord, i.e. Jesus belongs to you and all authority resides in that name. That name belongs to you. It’s yours and it’s available to you any time. So say this out loud “The name of Jesus belongs to me and I have authority in that name” (Lk.10v19; Matt. 28v18).
  2. You have access to God’s presence. This means you can enter God’s presence now and anytime. What a great honour and privilege to have. So child of God, this simply means that God’s presence is your heritage. Glory, you don’t need anyone to go into God’s presence on your behalf; you can come by yourself. This privilege belongs to you now and it’s time for you to experience this in reality (Eph.2v18).
  3. You have boldness by the faith of Jesus. Yes, you now have boldness to come before the Father. This is part of what belongs to you now in Christ. It’s your heritage and it’s time to walk in the reality of this promise. So there is no room for timidity or fear for you have boldness by the blood of Jesus Christ (Eph. 3v12).
  4. You have been justified by faith. Yes, you are! Justification is now your heritage and portion. You are not trying to be justified but you are justified. So justification is yours now, so give no room to condemnation or fear. Because of the sacrifice of Jesus, you are now justified i.e. Just as if you had not sinned. This is your new heritage in Christ. So precious child of God, know from today that you are the justified i.e. made righteous and no longer the condemned. You are a Victor and no longer a victim. Rejoice, for justification now belongs to you in Christ Jesus. You need to acknowledge this and walk fully in the understanding and revelation of this promise (Rom.5v1).

My dear reader, these are just some of your rich inheritance in Christ; I look forward to sharing more with you in our next lesson. Shalom!
