YOUR IDENTITY IN CHRIST 9

2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

You are welcome back to this interesting series on knowing who you are in Christ and today by His grace, I will be sharing with you some other dimensions of your identity in Christ. I believe you are ready for this and here we go:

xii. You are the light of this world. This is who you are now in Christ and this how you ought to see yourself henceforth (Matthew 5:14, 16; Ephesians 5:8). You need to understand that you are not just the light of your village, town or city but of the entire universe. So, stop seeing yourself as a little light! Being the light of the world means:
-You are the ruler of this world. This is so because anywhere there is light, it dominates that environment. So, you are meant to dominate and rule over this world and not the other way around. The best place for light to shine is darkness; so, don’t ever be surprised that you are in this world. It’s time to manifest His light (Isaiah 60:1-2).
-You are the illumination of this world. Without you, the world would be lost and confused. You were made by God to be the direction and illumination of this world. So, to what extent are you giving illumination to your world? (Ephesians 5:11).
-You are the influencer of this world. You were made by God to influence and change things for the better. You are his change agent here on earth and God expects you to bring about a great transformation in your world wherever you live. Who is getting better because of your shinning influence? (John 5:35)

My dear reader, it’s time to shine as His light. You are not supposed to hide or conceal your light but meant to shine brightly anywhere you go. This is your true identity as His light and may today mark the beginning of your shining light.

Prayer for Today: Dear Heavenly Father, I have come to know and accept today that I am the light of this world. Help me to fully discharge this great responsibility without bringing shame or disrespect to your name in Jesus name, amen. I will shine for you by your help and wisdom.

CONFESSION: I am the light of this world and my light shines in every of my endeavours and involvements in life. I am a shining example to my world. I have good and godly influence everywhere I go. I cannot be hidden as His light and I shine for the glory of my God. I will never lose my capacity to shine because the Lord is my light and salvation.
