2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
I believe that the revelation of who you are in Christ is taking roots in you as we progress in this series of lessons on your identity in Christ. As you can see in 2 Corinthians 5:17, you now have a new identity in Christ and it’s important for you to know who you are in Christ. Today, we will go a step further by looking at some discoveries about our identity in Christ.
ix. You are God’s property (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). This simply means that:
You belong to God. You do not belong to the world, Satan or any other person. Since you are now of God, the devil and any other person cannot mess with you (Galatians 6:17).
God owns you. You do not own your life or yourself. He owns your today, time, resources, life etc. Your life is not just your own neither can you live anyhow. As God’s property, you ought to live for Him and His glory. Are you living to please Him or yourself? (Gal.2:20)
Precious child of God, it’s important for you to know that the seal of God’s ownership and approval is on your life. It’s time for you to embrace your new status in Christ.
x. You are the body of Christ and a member in particular (1 Corinthians 12:27). This is your new identity in Christ. You are his feet, hands, legs, nose, eyes etc. You are the embodiment of Christ here on earth. You are His presence here on earth. You are the Christ that people will see and know. So, how well are you representing Him here? What is your testimony and impact like? It’s time to start seeing yourself the way God sees you. As you do things, things will change for the better for you in Jesus name, amen.

Prayer for Today: Father God, I fully embrace my new status in Christ. I acknowledge you as my owner and maker. I know I am your body here on earth. Holy Spirit, help me to fully represent Christ here on earth to the glory and honor of His name in Jesus name, amen.
CONFESSION: I am God’s property and I belong to Him. I do not belong to any foe or power but to God. God owns my life, today, resources, time and everything that pertains to me. Therefore, I am fully committed to serving Him to the best of my abilities. I am a member of the body of Christ; therefore, I am His representative here on earth and I represent Him well in all my ways and endeavors in Jesus name, amen.
