(2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new)

  1. YOUR IDENTITY IN CHRIST 4 24

Our text Scripture (2 Corinthians 5:17) clearly reveals to us that we now have a new identity in Christ, but who are we really in Christ? My focus in the next series of lessons is to share with you some of the discoveries of who we are in Christ. This will empower you to live the victorious life you were designed to live. So, who are you now in Christ?

  1. You are a new creation in Christ. You are a completely new person in Christ. Your past is dead and gone. It’s no longer an issue. You now have a new record. Glory be to God. This is good news and this is your new status in Christ. Your spirit man has been recreated by God and this nature of righteousness has been imparted unto you. This is how you need to see yourself because this is how God sees you; regardless of what you have done, you have a clean slate with God (2 Corinthians 7:2; Acts 9:15).
  2. You are the temple of God. You are His habitation. God now lives inside you. You are the address of the Most High, for you are his mobile temple. You practically carry God with you everywhere you go. This is now your identity. Dearly beloved, the earlier you embrace this, the better for you. God now lives inside you. What an honour and privilege to be the dwelling place of the Most High (1 Corinthian 3:9, 16).
  3. You are his beloved. You are his darling. You are his treasured possession. This is how much God loves you. He loves you unconditionally, sacrificially and recklessly. The measure of His love for you is the proof of how valuable and important you are to God. So, stop doubting His love for you and know without any iota of doubt that you are loved by God. Say this out loud, “I am God’s dearly beloved.” May the revelation of this word sink deep into your consciousness in Jesus name, amen (Eph.1:6; 1Jn.3:1).

Dearly beloved, I want you to know today and always that the things I have shared with you are who you are in Christ, so embrace and receive it.

Prayer for Today: Father help me to receive and believe in my new identity in Christ. I acknowledge that I am who you say I am, please help my unbelief. I appropriate, by faith today, my new identity in Christ.

CONFESSION: I acknowledge today my new status in Christ. I am a brand new person in Christ. I am an uncommon breed because God’s nature and character lives in me. I am his holy temple. God dwells and lives inside me. I carry God everywhere I go because I am his beloved. My heavenly Father loves me dearly and I believe in His love for me. His love for me is deep and strong and I walk in the revelation of this love. Glory be to God, I am a recipient and product of His love. I am the object of His love because I am the apple of His eyes.
