2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
You need to understand your identity in Christ. This is why we are taking the time to unveil who we are in Christ in this powerful series of lessons (Romans 10:17). I believe that your walk with God and life won’t be the same again. Once again, today, we will continue our discourse on another truth about your identity which is:
xiv. You are the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21). Yes, this is who you are now in Christ. You have not only obtained the gift of righteousness but you are now the righteousness of God in Christ. This is your new identity in Christ and this is how you need to see yourself. What does it really mean?
You now have a right standing with God. This status you now enjoy is not based on your good works or merit but on the finished works of Christ at Calvary. He took your sinfulness and gave you his righteousness. This means that you can now come into his presence without any form of shame or fear (Romans 8:1-3).
You have been justified by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. This means that you are a free man in Christ; whatever you have done before does not stand against you because Christ has acquainted and discharged you of all charges laid against you. Glory be to God; you now have peace with God. So, rejoice child of God, for His blood has justified you (Romans 5:1).
You are now a saint of God. You are no longer a sinner; so, stop calling yourself one because God now sees you as His saint. Sainthood is not something you translate into when you die but it’s something you enjoy on earth as a believer since Christ took your place, so that you have His own righteousness (Philippians 1:1).
Precious child of God, you need to begin to see yourself as the righteousness of God and not as a sinner. You need to be righteousness-minded and not sin-minded or conscious because your status has changed in Christ. Would you embrace this new status and stop allowing the devil to torment you?

Prayer for Today: I fully embrace my new status in Christ by seeing myself as the righteousness of God in Christ. I stop seeing myself as a sinner but as a saint of God, for the blood of Jesus has delivered me from the power of sin and I am a new person in Christ. Thank you Lord for changing my status.
CONFESSION: I am the righteousness of God in Christ. This is my new status in Christ. I am no longer a sinner but a saint of God. I have a right standing with God based on the sacrifice of Jesus for me; therefore, I have unrestricted access His presence. Praise God, I am forgiven, free, acquainted and discharged of all charges and accusations against me. Glory be to God; no more shame or condemnation because I am the righteousness of God in Christ.
