1 Corinthians 9 verse 24-26: ‘V24- Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. V25- And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. V26- I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air.’

Life can be likened to a race or Journey and how you run the race, will determine if you will ultimately win or lose. This is why Apostle Paul in our text scripture (1Cor9v24 -26) admonishes us to pay attention to how we run. So my dear brothers and sisters, how have you been running the race of life? Are you winning or lagging? And if you will win, then you need to pay attention to how you run the race. So how should you run?
How to Run:

1. Run with the right message. What does this mean? It means to run with clear objectives and goals or not run aimlessly. So, what are your goals and aspirations in life? What are you aiming for? Where do you want to arrive? Who do you want to become? The clearer you are about these things, the better your chances of winning. So, make your objectives and goals clear. Stop running anyhow or with the crowd. Let your message be clear and precise. 1Cor14v8; 2Sam18v19-23.

2. Run your own race. Every man has their own race, but the problem is that some people are busy running another man’s race instead of their own. Heb12v2. So if you are really interested in winning In this life, you need to run your race. Stay in your lane and stay in the race, as you only get rewarded for running your own race. Philip2v16. So how exactly can you run your race? You do so by:

-Staying in his will and plan for your life. Follow God’s mandate for your life. Jn6v38.
-Stay where you are most useful and relevant and not where you are wanted.
-Stay in your area of gifting and calling. 1Cor7v20.

Just make sure that by all possible means, you stay in your lane to win in the race of life. May Jehovah enable you to do this in Jesus name, amen.
