Philippians 4 verse 6-7: V6- Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. V7- And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Are there reasons why you should stop worrying? The answer is an emphatic yes! There are good reasons for you not to worry, which I intend to share with you in this series of teachings. So, in case you have been worrying, the answers you need to stop worrying have come your way. However, before I start sharing these nuggets with you, I want us to take a look at our text scripture (Philippians4 verse6-7) in some other translations so that you can see also that God wants you to stop worrying:

-Don’t Worry about Anything but pray about everything -Contemporary English Version

-Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray -Message Version

-Have no anxiety about anything -Revised Standard Version

My dear friends, I believe that you can see from above clearly that God wants us to stop worrying. So, in practical terms, why should you stop worrying?

REASONS TO STOP WORRYING:

1. Because God has given us the commandment not to worry. I am sure you are wondering where that command is in the Bible. Well, you need not search further because the answers you seek are before you. For instance, in Matthew Chapter 6, especially in verses 25, 31, and 34, while Jesus was teaching on the mountain. He said categorically that you should not worry or take thought. This instruction is written in the imperative mode in the Greek language and it comes as a command. So God does not want you to worry because it is a commandment of his and a commandment that is not subject to any opinion, debate, or argument but something that must be obeyed. So, my dear friends, it is correct to say thou shall not worry.

2. Because God has shown us what to do with our worries and anxieties. Where has he shown us this? In his Word! Glory be to God! One such place is in our text scripture (Philippians 4 verse 6-7). It is clear from this scripture that he wants you to pray instead of worrying. In another place in the Bible, he admonishes us to cast all our burdens and worries on him (1Pet5v7). So, my dear friends, we don’t have any reason whatsoever to hold onto any worry or anxiety. God has shown us how to deal with our anxieties and worries. And as you comply, you will enter into a new season of rest for all sides. If you are receiving this can you say a BIG AMEN?
