Rom.8v14-16: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father”. The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.

It is apparent from (Rom.8v14-16) that our heavenly father is fully committed to speaking to his children. Hearing from God is part and parcel of your covenant, but why do some believers still have difficulties hearing from God. The problem certainly is not with God but with us, the receivers or receptors. This is why we have been considering some of the reasons why we don’t seem to hear God. Today by his grace, I will be sharing four more reasons with you. So if you are ready, here we go!

CHALLENGES WITH HEARING FROM GOD

1. Not everyone is ready to do what the Lord is saying, i.e., ready to obey or comply with what the Lord is saying. So, therefore, what is the essence of God speaking to you if you are not ready to obey his will or will never do his bidding. This is why people often struggle with hearing from God. So to what extent do you obey his voice when he speaks to you? The more swiftly and faithfully you are in this area, the easier for God to commit more into your hands. It’s time for you to cultivate a heart of obedience to his instructions to you if you will be successful in hearing from God (Jer.42v6; Ps.95v7).
2. Not everyone is listening. This is another problem associated with hearing from God. Hearing is not the same thing as listening. Listening is making an effort to hear. So the question to ask yourself is if you have a listening ear. When God speaks or is speaking, and you are not listening, you stand the chance of missing out on his instructions. God is always willing to speak to you, but you need to give him your attention. You need to give God your undivided attention and deal with every form of distraction and any other thing that may be hindering your attention at all cost if you really want to hear God. Are you willing to do this today? (Mk.7v16; Lk.9v62).
3. Not everyone is in the right position. This is why we struggle to hear from God. Your position determines what you see and who sees you. So my dear reader, it’s time for you to position yourself strategically. You need to be logged into the right frequency or wavelength of heaven. Are you in the right place? You can get into the right place or position by creating an atmosphere of his presence via worship, communing with him via his word etc. Just make sure that nothing or nobody takes you away from his presence. Stay hooked on the power source; let nothing break your connection. As you align yourself strategically, you will see the wonders and dimensions of the Lord you never knew before (Lk.19v1-4; 2Ki.3v15-16).
4. Not everyone is in touch with God. How is your fellowship with God? Are you in fellowship with God once in a while or regularly? It’s important to renew your relationship with God via a daily fellowship and intimacy. This will significantly enable you to hear God better and consistently. So never allow anything or anyone to come between you and your God. Guard your relationship with the Lord jealously. Always stay in touch. This way you will be in tune with his Spirit and mind (1Jn.1v7, 9; Job 22v21). My dearly beloved ones, it’s time to take seriously the issue of your ability to hear from God. It’s time to fortify your walk with the Lord Jesus more than ever before.

No more obstructions or interferences. I can hear God for myself, for my spirit man is renewed and edified.
