1 Corinthians 7 verse 32a: ‘But I would have you without carefulness.’

There are so many reasons why people worry or fret, as nothing happens without a cause. Pro26v2. But when you look at God’s word, it is very clear that God wants you to be without any worries, as seen in our text scripture (1 Corinthians 7verse32a). In fact, if you take a close look at this scripture in some other translations, you will see what I mean:
‘My desire is to have you free from all anxiety and distressing care”-Amplified Bible (Classic Edition)
“I want all of you to be free from worry “-Contemporary English Version.
The bottom line is that God wants you to live above worry, as this is his will for you in Christ Jesus. But why do people worry anyway? The reasons are many but I would like us to examine some of them today, and they are as follows:

1. Because they don’t know what to do. People worry at times because they are hopeless or confused about a particular situation but thanks be to God, for he has not left without a witness. Jn8v32.

2. Because they don’t know their identity in Christ. In other words, they don’t know what they have and ‘whose’ they are. This is why people often worry or fret. Ps82v6-7.

3. Because of fear. Fear is often the major cause of anxiety but as a child of God, you need to know that you have dominion over fear. 2Tim1v7; 1Jn4v4.

4. Because of the kind of personality they have. Psychologists tell us that some people are prone to worry because they have anxiety disorders. In as much as this may be true in the natural, there is a way out for you if you tap into the provisions you have in Christ. So rejoice, for you are victorious in Christ. Rom8v37.

5. Because it is natural and human to worry. While this may be true, I want you to know that it is certainly not the final decision for you because there is a way out in Christ. You can rise above the flesh if you will tap into your abilities in Christ.

My dear friends, no matter the reason for your worrying, I want you to know that it is certainly not acceptable or tenable because you don’t have to worry anymore, and you can actually win the warfare over worry. So, enough of playing the victim, it’s time to take charge and take dominion of your freedom. I pray that today will usher you into such a season in Jesus name amen.
