Ps.40v1-3: I walked patiently for the Lord; and he inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay. And set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth. Praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord.

Welcome back to our discourse on how you ought to respond in a waiting season. In our last lesson, I discussed with you what a waiting season is all about and some of the key truths you need to know about such a season. I believe that you were blessed by what we shared. Today by his Grace, our focus will be on what to do exactly in a waiting season! I am sure you are eager to know these things, so let’s delve into it right away.

WHAT TO DO IN A WAITING SEASON?

1. Keep your eyes on the Lord. How do you do such a kind of thing? You do this by keeping your eyes on his Promises or words to you. This is how to stand strong during your waiting season. Never let go of his promises to you. Hold tight to his Word, you need to remember that he is too faithful to fail you. Don’t ever allow anybody or anything to take away your focus on his Word. What you focus on is very important. What you focus on will be magnified in your life and in fact, that’s what you will also become. So my dear reader, choose your focus wisely. Instead of focusing on the things that are not working or the circumstances, focus rather on his Word. Doing this will keep your faith alive and closer also to your heart’s desire (Heb.12v2; Ps.25v15).

2. Rest in the Lord. Don’t rest on the arm of the flesh, people, or your experience. Let Jehovah be the who in whom you rest or rely. Stop giving to agitations or anxieties. Someone who is resting is in a state of peace and tranquillity. When you are resting, you are not disturbed or worked up. Your mind is at rest in his Word and his love. My dear reader, this is how you ought to respond in your waiting season. I, therefore, challenge you to begin to rest in God from Today. Let him begin to fight your battles. As you do, your victory will be guaranteed in Jesus name, amen (Isa.26v3; Ps.37v7).

3. Intensify your praise. This is how God wants you to respond in your waiting season. This was one of the ways David responded. No wonder we have the book of Psalms today. Are you going to start praising or complaining? It’s better to praise than to murmur. So what are you waiting for? Amplify your praise beginning from today. Don’t stop praising. Let your praises overflow (Acts 16v25). Don’t make your waiting season to be a time of being moody but a time of being Joyful. As you engage the weapon of praise, it will surprise you what the Lord will do through your waiting season.

My dear brothers and sisters, I commend you unto God’s counsel and promise today, as you begin to walk in them, expect a turnaround for the better in Jesus name, amen.

Prayer for Today: Blessed Comforter, may the Joy and bliss of waiting for his Promises never elude me in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: The Lord is good to the soul that waits for him. Therefore, I wait until my change comes. I will not be discouraged nor distracted from my goals and aspirations. God is too faithful to fail; therefore, he is bringing me into the fullness of the things that I have waited for. Hallelujah, my waiting will not be in vain. Thank you Jesus!
