Psalm 92verse12-14 ‘V12-The righteous shall flow like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. V13-Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. V14-They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.’
God never leaves us in the dark as his will for our lives; this is evident even in our text scripture (Ps92v12-14) as per how he wants us to flourish. It’s clear that flourishing is God’s will for our lives but he is also very specific and intentional about how he wants you to flourish. If you want to really understand what flourishing is all about, then you need to know what God really has in mind, when he promised you flourishing. Today in this lesson, my focus will be on some important truths you need to know about flourishing. So off we go!
TRUTHS ABOUT YOUR FLOURISHING:
1. Your flourishing should be regardless of the conditions or circumstances of life. Yes, this is how God wants you to flourish. This is why he likens you to how a Palm Tree flourishes and how a Cedar grows! How do these trees flourish? They flourish all year round and thrive despite the adverse conditions of life. So this simply means that it is God’s will for you to flourish regardless of what is happening, will happen or has happened. Hos14v5, 7. This is how a believer should flourish and I pray that this will be your portion in this season in Jesus name, amen.
2. Your Flourishing is based on being in the right position and condition. Your positioning and conditioning determine your flourishing. This is where you will notice in our text scripture (Ps92v13) that emphasis is placed on being “planted” in the house of the Lord. Are you properly planted? Because it’s those who are properly planted and rooted in Christ that will truly flourish and blossom. So don’t ever allow anything or anyone to move you from where you are planted. Jn15v4-5: Ps104v16
3. Your flourishing is meant to be continuous, not seasonal or temporal. You were meant to flourish continuously and not temporarily. This is so true about the Palm and Cedar Trees as they continue to bear fruits even in their old age. So my dear brothers and sisters, the longer you live, the greater should be your ability to flourish. If you are saying amen to this can I hear a thunderous amen? Ps92v14
