Pro.13v20: He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.
Your success in life is greatly connected to who you walk with and this is also the message of our text scripture in (Pro.13v20) i.e. you become like the people you walk with either good or bad. Walking with the wise gives you an opportunity of becoming wise and this is also true if you associate with foolish people. Who you follow determines what follows you. Who are you walking with? It’s important for you to walk with the right kind of people if you really want to accomplish your colorful destiny (Pro.27v17)
My dear reader, you need to be deliberate and intentional about who you let into your circle of influence because it has a great influence and impact on your life! I want you to carefully consider the following:
- If you walk with dogs, you will learn how to bark.
- If you walk with pigs, you will learn how to wallow in the mire.
- If you walk with fishes, you will learn how to swim.
- If you walk with goats, you will learn how to bleat.
- If you walk with bees, you will learn how to buzz.
- If you walk with cats, you will learn how to meow.
- If you walk with eagles, you will learn how to soar to great heights.
- If you walk with elephants, you will learn how to trumpet.
- If you walk with lions, you will learn how to roar.
- If you walk with roosters, you will learn how to crow.
- If you walk with parrots, you will learn how to talk.
- If you walk with hyenas, you will learn how to laugh.
You can see that who you become and what you do is greatly influenced by the kinds of relationships you allow into your life. So, dearly beloved ones, you need to choose your friends wisely, for friendship is not by force but by choice (Pro.18v24).
