Heb.13v4: Marriage is honourable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
Pro.4v7: Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom, and in all your getting, get understanding
One of the best things that can ever happen to you either as a married person or someone aspiring to marry is to have sound and biblical wisdom concerning the institution of marriage. This is one of the primary goals of this series on marriage and I pray that this will be your testimony in Jesus name, amen. By the special grace of God, today, I shall be sharing another set of powerful insights about marriage. So if you are ready, here we go!
Basic truths about marriage:
- Marriage will cost you something. Nothing goes for nothing in life. For everything, you gain, you lose something and for everything you gain, you lose something. Are you ready to pay the price to make your marriage successful? If you are ready, then you are on your way to taking your marriage to another level. My dear brothers and sisters, you need to count the cost in order to have a better marriage. You need to forsake certain things and embrace other things in order for your marriage to stand out. I pray for you today that you will find the courage and will to do so in Jesus name, amen (Pro.17v16).
- Marriage requires commitment for it to work. This is why if you are not ready to commit, please don’t marry! By the way, what kind of commitment does marriage require? Marriage requires you to commit yourself, your life, resources, time, devotion, energy et cetera. to it before it can work. Are you ready for such a kind of commitment? (Ruth 1v16-18).
- Marriage is a marathon race. It’s not a sprint but a long-distance race. This is why you need stamina, strength, and courage in order to last the full race and journey. My dearly beloved, I want you to know that it takes endurance to last in marriage. Therefore, if you are impatient, irritable, unreasonable, arrogant, irrational or hasty, you won’t last in the journey of marriage. It’s time to conquer yourself, weaknesses and flesh. It’s time to work on yourself so that you can last the entire race. May your strength never fail you in marriage in Jesus name, amen (Pro.24v10).
My dear reader, I do hope that these powerful lessons on marriage are reshaping and transforming your marital life. I commit you to the grace of God which is able to empower you to succeed in life.
