Heb.13v4: Marriage is honourable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
Pro.4v7: Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom, and in all your getting, get understanding.
I am super excited about this series on “Understanding Marriage” because I know that the wind of change is coming into your marital life. I know this because of what the truth can do if we embrace it in totality. Marriage still remains a favourable institution ordained by God for the betterment of mankind but in order to experience the bliss of marriage, we need the right kind of understanding concerning marriage. This is one of the cardinal objectives of this teachings and today I will be sharing more insights into the concepts of marriage (Jn.8v32).
Basic truths about marriage
10. Marriage is for the mature and not for boys and girls. It takes maturity to live with someone under the same roof for a long time. So if you are not ready to grow up, then forget marriage. Maturity is not a function of your age but of your mind, character, demeanour, behaviour, attitude, ways etc. it’s possible to be powerful physically but not matured emotionally as we see in the case of Samson. His anger got the better part of him during his marriage thereby making him to lose out (Jug.14v2-3, 10-20).
11. Marriage is a covenant relationship. It’s more than a legal contract as the world has made us to believe. It’s deeper and stronger than we imagine, that’s why it’s a covenant. It’s a pity not many people know what a covenant is. It’s the most intimate relationship that can ever exist. It’s spiritual and supernatural. This is the kind of relationship that we have with our heavenly Father. Therefore, when you look at marriage from this point, you are looking at the most powerful relationship between a man and woman. And in any covenant arrangement, there are blessings or curses and privileges/promises and consequences depending on how you treat the covenant (1Cor.6v16-17).
My dear reader, you need to stop looking at marriage as an ordinary relationship but as a supernatural relationship that has the potential to take you to unimaginable heights and levels. May your eyes of understanding be enlightened in receiving this revelation and may the power of the covenant of marriage work for you.

Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, I believe in the covenant of marriage and I embrace fully by faith all your covenant provisions for marriage in Jesus name, amen.
CONFESSION: Marriage is a blessing and not a burden. It’s a cure and not a curse. I choose to see marriage from how God sees marriage. I choose to see marriage the way God sees marriage. I put on a new mentality and disposition. As I operate from God’s perspective, a new world of opportunities and possibilities abounds unto me. Glory be to Jesus, for the blessings of the covenant of marriage is mine in Jesus name, amen.
