Jn.8v32: And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

You are welcome back to our discussion on truths that you need to know about serving the Lord. As you can see from our text scripture in (John 8:32) that it is the truth that you know that sets you free, not just the truth. This is why your knowledge base needs to be broadened. The stronger your knowledge base, the better the things you will be able to explore and experience. Many people do not have the right kind of understanding about service; this is why I believe perhaps they are not that committed to serving the Lord. Once your knowledge is right and sound, you will see that it will change your approach to service. This is why I have been sharing with you the things that will help you approach your service with the right mentality. Today, by the special grace of God, I will be sharing with you more truths that will reinforce your service to God on a stronger basis. So here we go.

BASIC TRUTHS ABOUT SERVING GOD:

4. There is no service without sacrifice. Serving God will cost you something. Serving God is not going to be an easy bed of roses. This is why for people who want to serve God on their own terms, you will not find it easy to do so. Because you don’t serve God when it’s convenient for you, but you serve God sacrificially. This is why you need to understand that serving God comes at a price, but the good thing is that the price is worth the prize. You will never lose out when it comes to serving the Lord. I have read the story of great servants of the Lord and I see this common denominator in their service. Their service was essentially built around sacrifices they made, lots and lots of sacrifices. In fact, that is why some of us are enjoying some of the dividends of such sacrifices today. So you, too, need to be ready to make sacrifices for the kingdom if your service will be relevant (2Cor.12v15).

5. Serving God is the most profitable venture you can ever be involved in as a child of God. Thank God for the gift of salvation, but I can assure you that after your salvation experience, serving God offers the kind of benefits and dividends that is second to none. I can say categorically that even serving the Lord is better than serving men, government, or any other kind of organization. This is just the plain truth because what God offers you, no man or organization or government can offer you. This is why it pays to work for God if you are still on the sidelines. I encourage you to hop in now because the cloud of Glory is moving and you don’t want to be left out (1Cor.15v58).

6. God will reward every man according to his own works. This is a very important truth about service that you need to realize. We will be rewarded by the Almighty based on our works. You see, because God is just and faithful, he does not reward the way man rewards. I can tell you that God has a far better reward system than any man can offer; this is why God is someone that can be depended upon or trusted. To reward every man, I mean every man according to their deeds. So, my dear reader, you need to seriously begin to pay attention to your works because you will be rewarded according to your deeds. So if you don’t want to reap it, make sure you are not sowing it. Make sure you are sowing the right kind of seeds so that you can reap the right kind of harvest (Lk.19v11-27).

7. You need to put a premium or priority on serving God. This is another important truth that you must understand about serving God. Serving God should come first in your life and not last. God does not want to be treated anyhow. This is why he should come first (Matt.6v33). Don’t put him second or third but first. If you put God first, you will never come last. So make him your number one! Let Serving God be your number one preoccupation! Then, I guarantee that you will not be put to shame in Jesus name, amen.
