Jn.8v32: And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

There are certain truths about serving God that you and I need to understand if our service is going to be acceptable and if we are going to reap the kind of dividends from serving the Lord (John 8:32) makes us understand that it is the truth that you know that sets you free. In other words, the degree of freedom that you will be able to walk in and experience is determined by the level of truth that you know. You and I need to have the right kind of concept and mentality about service. Walking in error and falsehood will certainly jeopardize what service is supposed to be accomplished in our lives; this is why it’s important for you to have the right kind of understanding that you need to have about serving God.

BASIC TRUTHS ABOUT SERVING GOD:

1. Service will do something for you that nobody or nothing can do for you. This is one of the basic and fundamental truths that you need to understand about serving God. Serving God will do something for you that even prayer might not be able to do for you. I know that this may sound ambiguous, but it is the truth. Service will certainly do for you even what money cannot do. This is a tremendous power that service has to offer someone. This is why you cannot allow the opportunity of serving God to pass you by. Service is surely the pathway to honour, lifting, and promotion in life. This is why you need to grab every opportunity of serving the Lord with your full hands. I believe that this will be your decision from henceforth in the name of Jesus (Exo.23v25-26).

2. Service will do something to you that nobody or nothing can do to you. This is also very instructive and powerful. Service has the power or potential of doing several things to you and me that nobody can do. For instance, service humbles a man. It not only humbles, but it can also enrich your life. This has been my own personal experience and that of several other people. Service also exposes you to several opportunities that you might not have ordinarily had. Service grants you access; it changes your life forever and even for the better. When you look at the example of David, you will see these manifestations and fruits at work in his life. Ladies and Gentlemen, this is why you need to grab with your two hands any opportunity of service from today. Do not allow the opportunity of changing your life to pass you by in Jesus mighty name (1Sam.16v11, 18, 21-23).

3. How you serve is far more important to God than the service that you render. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that what you do is not important but how you render the service is far more important to God than the service itself. This is why you need to pay attention to how you serve. A lot of people are serving God for the wrong purpose. A lot of people are serving God with the wrong mentality. Let me ask you, my dear brothers and sisters, what is your motivation for service? Why are you serving in that team or department? Why are you in that place? If your motive is wrong for service, then it will affect the end product. This is why you need to begin to pay attention to the reasons why you serve. Once the reasons are right and godly, then the dividends and the blessings will surely not elude you. I challenge you today that as you begin to pay attention to how you serve the Lord, the dividends and rewards of true service will never elude you. This is my prayer for you. I believe that the truths you are discovering about service will reposition you to serve God better. Welcome to a new season of impact and service. Welcome to a greater season of productivity in your life. This will be your testimony in Jesus mighty name.
