Matt.22v37: Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind”.

Our love for God should be second to none. Nothing should compete with your love for God as you can see from our text scripture (Matt.22v37); our love for God should be total or complete. In fact, your love for God should be profound and visible. Your love for God should be genuine! It should not be based on what you can get but on what you can give. But honestly, speaking, how many believers genuinely love God? Are you a True Lover of God? God knows whether you really love him or not! (Nah.1v7). So you can’t really deceive Him. This is why you need to take your love for God more seriously. Your love for God should be pure, genuine and obvious to all. Loving God genuinely is part of the criteria for Knowing God intimately and no matter where your love is currently, it can get better.

Through this series of lessons, I strongly believe that your love for God will go to another level.
One major thing about Loving someone is that it’s something you can’t hide or conceal. If you are a true lover of God, it will be obvious to you and others around you too. So how can you identify a true lover of God?
You can know a True lover of God by their:

1. Motives. Your motives speak of the reason behind what you do. You will agree with me that there is a reason why you do what you do. Those who truly love God, they have good and godly reasons for what they do. They are not doing things for the wrong reasons or purpose. So my dear reader, is your motive pure or otherwise? (Matt.6v1-6).

2. Actions. Men are alike in their promises, it’s only in their deeds that they differ. Actions speak louder than voices. You can know someone who genuinely loves God by the positive steps and actions that they take. If you really love God, it will show in the kind of actions or steps that you take. A true lover of God is a contributor and not just a Consumer! They make things happen for the Kingdom. They are never idle or lazy because they are passionate about his House (Matt.7v16, 20).

3. Lifestyle. Your lifestyle is another revealer of your true love for God. By lifestyle, I mean how you live your life! Yes, how you live will really tell us whether you love God or not. If you really love God, then he will have a place in your life. In fact, you will live for him and also seek to please him. God occupies a special place in the hearts of those who truly love him (Acts 9v36-41).
Can you say the same thing about your life? It’s time to prove the sincerity of our love for God through our Motives, actions and lifestyle. I pray that you will truly experience God’s visitation through this series of lessons in Jesus name, amen.
