Time to Apply 1

Philippians 4verse9 ‘Those things, which ye have both learned, and receiveth, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.’

There are many things we have heard, received learnt or seen from God’s word but how many of such things are we applying? This is also true about life also! How many of the things you have access to in terms of knowledge, wisdom or exposure are you currently applying in your life or vocation? This is why this series of teachings is coming your way today! it’s to stress the importance of applying whatever truths or information we might have received. We need to move from just being hearers to becoming a doer. This is what the great Apostle Paul was talking about in our text scripture (Philippians 4verse9). It’s time for you to move from just being a talker to becoming a doer. Jam1v22.

My dear brothers and sisters, application is very important.it cannot be overemphasized or belittled. You need application in your life. Pro4v20-22. The time you spend in applying the truths you have received is never wasted time but time that is well invested. Application time is a time of building up yourself. This is why you need to focus on applying those things that you have learnt, heard and received. Application has to do with doing, executing, performing, fulfilling or taking action. These are just some of the meanings of application. So it’s time to apply. Jb5v27

So why is application so important? Why should you become a Doer of what you have received?

1. Because it’s the key to enjoying the blessings of God. If you want to see the manifestation of God’s promises in your life, then you need to execute the things you have received and learnt. Infact our results are limited because we don’t apply consistently the things that we know. Rom2v13: Jn13v17. So my dear reader, it’s time for you to begin to apply the truths that you have received.

2. Because it’s the key to knowing God personally. There is a difference between knowing God and knowing about God. For some people, they just know about God, they don’t know him personally. This is what application does for you: it helps you know God for yourself. I have discovered that the experiential knowledge of God comes via applying his truths. Matt7v21: Ps34v8. So what are you waiting for? It’s time to move from just learning to application. I guarantee you that your life won’t remain the same because I know from experience that the taste of the pudding is in the eating. May your transformation begin now!

Prayer for Today: Lord I move from being just a hearer to becoming a doer of your word from today in Jesus name amen.

CONFESSION: I move from just learning to executing the word. I leave the realm of just talking to becoming a doer. I chose to focus on applying the truths that I have received and learnt. As I do, my life is becoming a reflection of his Glory and Grace. Hallelujah!
