(1 Timothy 4:14: Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership)
I believe you are being blessed by this series on understanding your gifts and today, by His grace, I intend to share with you the remaining truths about your gifts that you need to know.
Basic Truths About Your Gift(s)
viii. You will give an account on how you used your gifts. There is a Day of Reckoning for every one of us. God is not a waster; this is why he has appointed a day where you will render your stewardship as per your talent(s). So, what kind of stewardship are you going to render? Will it be a good one? (Matthew 25:19). Since we know of a Day of Reckoning, then there is no need to waste time at all. It’s time to take your gifting seriously!
x) There are great rewards or returns for those who maximize their gift(s). For those who put their talents to work they have nothing to fear but a lot to gain and for those who do otherwise, they have great consequences to face! Are you working towards the gains or consequences? Whether you know it or not, your actions have great consequences! So, it’s time to put your gifting to work so as not to be ashamed on that day (Matthew 25:21, 23, 30).
xi) We shall not all be rewarded in the same way. Some shall be rewarded more than others. Some shall have great rewards while others shall get little rewards. What is the reason for this? Some of the reasons for this is as follows:
Some were more dedicated and committed to their gifts than others.
Some went the extra mile with their gifts than others (2 Corinthians 12:15)
Some depended more on God than others (Psalm 127:1-2)
God’s reward system is not the same as man’s reward system (Isa. 55 v 8-9).
For instance:
In the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25:14-30, you will notice that the servants who traded with their talents got the same rewards despite having different talents or gifts.
Whereas in the Parable of the Pounds in Luke 19: 13-26, you will notice the servants who traded with their talents got different rewards despite having the same talents or gifts.
God’s wisdom is higher and better than man’s wisdom. This is why you need to take more seriously the deployment of your gifts and talents. I guarantee you that you will be a far better person and the world will be a far better place when you do such. You will get there in Jesus name amen.
