Dan.9v2: “In the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of the years specified by the word of the Lord through Jeremiah the prophet, that He would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem”

Did you know that reading has a lot of benefits and advantages? Reading adds value to your life and work. It also makes you a better person as we can see from the life of Daniel. He was committed to reading; no wonder his star shined brightly in Babylon. You too can shine if you develop a reading culture like Daniel did in (Dan.9v2). So, how does reading improve your life? In what ways does reading add value to your life?

How does reading benefit you?

  1. By furnishing you with ideas or advice that you didn’t know before. Reading opens you up to new ideas, concepts, and counsel that can help you to be a better problem-solver. Are you ready for new insights and ideas?
  2. By enlarging your wisdom, understanding, and knowledge bank. Reading broadens your capacity to know more, understand better, and also become a wiser person (Pro.4v5).
  3. By making you a better and stronger person. How does this happen? By changing you and your life because only a changed person can change things. May reading change your life for the better (Dan.1v17-21).
  4. By answering some of the questions and agitations of your heart. At times, the answers you seek are hidden in books. This was Daniel’s experience in (Dan.9v2). I have also experienced this blessing in my life too. It can also become your portion if you start paying attention to Books.
  5. By helping you to become successful in life and your chosen field of endeavors. Warren Buffet (one of the richest men in the world) reads 500 pages every day. Are you ready to commit yourself to reading? I believe your answer is yes. So, begin today. Start somewhere! Start anyhow! Stop waiting for perfect conditions! Just get moving. As you do this, your capacity to read will begin to build up like compound interest and you will never remain the same in Jesus name, amen.
