Ps.24v6: This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek your face. Selah.
God is looking for a generation of those who will seek him in truth and in spirit. This has always been the father’s cry and desire (Jn.4v23-24). Unfortunately, many people today seek the blessings instead of the Blesser or, for some others, they are interested more in God’s presents instead of His Presence. So are you a True Seeker of God? Are you after things or after God? The Seekers’ Generation are the company of those who seek after the Lord with all their heart. This is obviously the same company that the Psalmist puts himself too as you can see in our text scripture (Psalm 24 verse 6).
In order to understand what the Seeker’s Generation entails, you need to know what it means to seek the Lord.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO SEEK THE LORD?
1. To seek his face. Seeking the Lord connotes seeking his face and his face speaks of his favour and goodwill. When his face shines on you, you become better for it. So as you seek the Lord, may His face shine on you (Ps.80v3, 7, 19).
2. To seek his Strength. Seeking the Lord also means to seek his strength and his strength speaks of his power and might. So as you seek the Lord, his power is made available to you. I have also noticed that those who seek the Lord never lack his Power. This is one of the reasons why you need to belong to the Seeker’s Generation too and may today usher you into such a kind of season in Jesus name, amen (Ps.59v9; Eph.6v10).
3. To seek his Ways. Seeking the Lord also connotes seeking his Ways or Wisdom and the Ways of God are higher and even better than our own ways. Man’s ways are limited, but God’s ways are unlimited. In fact, one another feature of seeking God is that his Ways will be made known to you. What a blessing and an experience to have. So the next time you say you are seeking the Lord, also know that you are also seeking his Ways or Wisdom. Glory be to God, I see you prospering by his Wisdom as you seek him this season in Jesus name, amen.
My dear brothers and sisters, I believe you can now see what it means to seek the Lord. This is where I will be drawing the curtains on our discussion today. By the grace of God, I will continue in our next lesson on what it means to seek the Lord. May the blessings of the Seeker’s Generation be yours in Jesus name, amen.
