Matthew 7v7-8 ‘V7-Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: V8-For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.’

Is it possible to get answers to your prayers? The answer is a definite Yes! God even takes delight in answering your prayers. Ps34v15,17. So why are some prayers answered and some unanswered? It’s because people are not aware of the things that guarantee answers to their prayers. This is what I have been sharing with you in this series of teachings and I do hope that you are being blessed. Today by his grace, I will be sharing another secret to answered prayers. So if you are ready, here we go!

2. Praying with the right motives. If you want to receive answers to your prayers, then your motives have to be right. What I am basically saying is that your motives for having that desire have to be right. Jam4v3. My dear reader, this is something that you need to pay attention to, if your prayers will be answered. So how can you know if your motive is right or wrong? What are the parameters that you can use? I want you to ask yourself the following questions:

a. What you are asking for, is it in line with God’s word? Jn15v7: Isa43v26
b. What you are asking for, is it in line with God’s will for your life or not? God’s plan and purpose differ from one person to another. Jn4v34
c. What you are asking for, will it bring glory to God or not? Isa43v21
d. What you are asking for will it be a blessing unto others and to his kingdom?
e What you are asking for, will it meet your needs or not? You need to differentiate a need from a want.
f. What you are asking for, will it be pleasing to God or not. Pro16v7: Ps37v4
My dear brothers and sisters, if your answers to all these questions are all yes, then it means that your motives are right but if otherwise, you may need to review the real reasons why you want what you want. One thing is sure, as you examine your heart, you will certainly know if your motives are right or wrong. May the Lord give you further understanding in Jesus name, amen.
