1Cor.4v1-2: Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.
When it comes to serving the Lord, you need to understand as a believer that God would not just accept certain things from you; for Jehovah wants to be served in certain ways (Mal.1v6-8). This has been the basis of our discussion in this series, and so far, I have shared with you some of the requirements of service; however, in our lesson today, I will go a step further in examining some other service requirements. So if you are ready, here we go!
WHAT GOD EXPECTS OF YOU:
- Sacrifice(s). If you are going to serve God profitably, then you must be willing to make sacrifices. Serving God is always a matter of sacrifice, not at your convenience or ease. So what sacrifice(s) are you making for the kingdom? Nothing goes for nothing. There is a price for everything in life, and the greater the sacrifice, the greater the level of service, and vice versa also. So my dearly beloved ones, it’s time to spend or be spent for his kingdom, and in this way, you will be perfecting your tomorrow and destiny (2Cor.12v15).
- Power. You cannot do God’s work in your own power. This is why you need His power and wisdom to work for him effectively. My dear reader, this is one of the major reason the Holy Spirit is with you. His spirit and word constantly provide for you the avenues of always drawing on God’s power whenever you need it. My dear reader, you need God’s power to serve God effectively. In fact, the greater the power of God in your life, the greater your level of service. This is how it works, and I see you from today beginning to tap into the fullness of his power in your life (1Cor.4v20; Acts 1v8).
- Generosity. Serving God also entails serving him with your substance too. In fact, there is nothing like serving God without serving him with your treasures/resources or means. True servers are givers! So to what extent are you serving God with your means or resources? Are you serving God freely with your substance, or are you withholding your resources from God’s service? I have often said that God’s Kingdom is the most profitable and productive soil to invest in, when you serve Him with your money, it’s never a waste, neither will it be in vain. It’s time to use your means for his glory and praise. It’s time to make someone smile because of your means that is involved in God’s work. It’s time for you to give God your best. Will you do so from today? (Pro.3v9-10; 1Chro.29v2)

Prayer for Today: Today, in the name of Jesus, I consecrate myself to a greater level of service in his kingdom! Amen.
CONFESSION: I am committed to making sacrifices for his kingdom. I am willing to spend and be spent for his work. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I serve his purpose and his kingdom and humanity. It’s a joy and great honour to serve the Lord. Therefore, I choose to serve the Lord with my treasures, resources, and means. God’s kingdom is being built and extended through my hands and contributions in Jesus name, amen. Glory be the God; it’s such a great pleasure to serve my King.
