(Psalm 34:4: I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears)

We have been examining the remedies that are available to us in God as His children and I trust that you are gaining mastery over your fears too. As you have seen in Psalm  34:4, it’s possible to walk in victory over your fears. I will be sharing with you another solution to the fear problem which is:

iii. Start confronting your fears. This is another way by which you can overcome your fears. You can’t conquer what you don’t confront and you will never rise above what you refuse to confront. So, are you ready to confront your fears? I know many people do not like confrontation, but that is the way to handle your fears. You are not to pamper or tolerate your fears, but you are to resist and face your fears. I also want you to know that you can’t confront fear with fear but with courage. So, it’s time to look at your fear in the face. As you take this step, you will become fearless and ultimately victorious (1Corinthians  16:13).

How exactly should I confront my fears? You can confront your fears by:

  • Speaking to your fears. Yes, you can speak to your fears and they will hear you. You need to remember that everything has a name and as you exercise your God-given authority, your fear will lose its grip upon you. Your fears have ears to hear; therefore, you need to keep speaking to your fears until you gain complete dominance over it. Are you ready to exercise this authority? (Matthew 18:18).
  • Courageously facing your fears. When you face your fears, you will become fearless! But it takes courage to do so. Courage is not the absence of fear but resistance and mastery of your fears. Are you ready to face your fears? Are you ready to do what you fear? Until you begin to take those steps of faith, you will never have the upper hand over your fears! So, why not start today? Be courageous to face your Goliath as David did. Be courageous to face your Esau like Jacob did (1Samuel 17:32-37).

Precious child of God, you need to know that the more you confront your fears, the greater your degree of freedom. So, keep on confronting your fears until you gain complete victory. I see you getting there in Jesus name, amen.

Thoughts for meditation:
