Isa.61v1-3: “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach the good tidings to the poor, He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound. To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn. To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified”.

I sincerely believe that you have been enjoying our discussion on the purpose of His anointing. So far in this study, I have shared 3 reasons as to why God anoints us. Our focus in today’s lesson will be centred on 2 other reasons why you are anointed. So, if you are ready, let’s examine these reasons right away.

Reasons for the anointing:

4. To triumph in the battles of life. His anointing is on you so that you can win in the battles of life. Life is a battle and this is why God has equipped you with what you need to be victorious. Say this out loud, “I have what it takes to be victorious in the battles of life. Therefore, I am a victor and not a victim. I am a winner and not a loser.” This should be your confession and reality in life. Listen to me, precious child of God, you are not permitted to lose in the battles of life because of the anointing you carry. So, you need to know and believe this with absolute conviction and authority that you are destined to win in any battle of life. Whatever battle you are facing now in your home, health, career, or community, you will overcome by the anointing (Ps.92v10: 89v20-23).

5. To lift burdens and destroy yokes. In actual fact, the anointing is also referred to as the burden-removing and yoke-destroying power of God. The anointing specializes in lifting burdens and destroying yokes. Whatever burden or yoke you encounter, you will conquer and subdue in Jesus name. A yoke or burden is a load or weight that serves as a source of limitation or servitude. I make bold to declare that because of the anointing you carry, every yoke of bondage, sickness, infirmity, or stagnation is destroyed in Jesus name, amen. I want you to know from today, child of God, that the answer to every burden, barrier, or stronghold is in the anointing you carry. Therefore, begin to see yourself as a limit breaker, line crosser, and a trailblazer. This is your heritage in the anointing. I implore you to rise up and begin to walk in your heritage (Isa.10v27).

Prayer for Today: Father God, I thank you for anointing me to be victorious in the battles of life. I praise you for the burden-lifting and yoke-destroying power of God that is at work in my life in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: Glory be to God for I am anointed to triumph in the battles of life. The anointing makes me a winner in every challenge of life. I win because of the anointing. I prevail by the anointing and I walk upon my high places in Christ. I carry the burden-lifting and yoke-destroying power of God. Therefore, every yoke of servitude, bondage, stagnation, and infirmity is destroyed in Jesus name. Every yoke is nullified and rendered useless. Anything that the enemy has used successfully against me from henceforth is completely destroyed. I obtain my deliverance and I walk in the fullness of my liberty in Jesus name, amen.
