Acts 1v8: But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

As you can see from our text scripture (Acts 1v8), it is very clear and apparent that God has given every believer the power to witness for him. Every believer possesses this power and it is something that God wants you to put to use. However, I know that not every child of God is aware of what they possess or carry. This is why this series of teachings is coming our way; you do not have to walk in the dark anymore because light is available. God’s will and desire are for us to witness for him regularly and consistently, this is why he made his witnessing power available to you. Last time, I shared with you some of the amazing things that God wants to accomplish through your witness and today, we will go a step further by looking at some other things that your Witnessing power can accomplish.

So what can your Witness do?

1. It makes the power of God available at your disposal. When you witness, you are given God’s power and opportunity to operate through you or around you. This is why you need to take your witnessing life very seriously. Witnessing causes you to access or it provokes God’s power to Work (Rom.1v16). The disciples of Christ in obedience to his instructions in (Mark 16 verse 15) as they went forth preaching the good news, God was also confirming it with signs and wonders following, as you can see in verse 20. So it’s time for you to give his Witness and power and ability or opportunity to work through your life. May today mark the beginning of such an experience for you.
2. It helps you to overcome the enemy of your soul. When you do the work of witnessing for Jesus, it empowers you to overcome Satan. Whether you know it or not, your witnessing or testimony silences the enemy or opposition. Your witness gives you the power to overcome the enemy of your soul because, through your witnessing, the power of the enemy is subdued and crushed. This is why you need to take the power of your witnessing very seriously because this is part of the amazing things that God intends to accomplish through our witness. So it’s time to put the enemy to where it belongs. It’s time for the enemy to be permanently under your foot (Rev.12v11).
3. It opens the doors of opportunities and breakthroughs for you. Unimaginable doors and access often opens up for you through the preaching of the gospel. If you look at the example of the leper as he shared his testimony and witnessed it, it brought him into another dimension of life. He became an evangelist and also a reporter for Jesus Christ, as you can see in (Mark 1:45). The same can also be said of the mad man of Gadarene; his testimony opened the doors of access, utterance and influence for him as he maximised his witnessing power for Jesus (Mk.5v19-20). This also can become a reality in your life when you make yourself available for his use as there is no one that the master uses that does not share in his glory. Ultimately, so the more reason why you need to take your witnessing power more seriously. There is a lot that God wants to accomplish through this power if only you will put it to work. This is why God is bringing these series of teachings your way, i.e. to open your eyes to see the awesome power that is available to you. It is time to begin to take full advantage of what the father is prepared to do, that you can manifest his glory and truly be a blessing to your generation in the name of Jesus. I believe this is what you are coming into from this season. So rise and shine for his glory.

Prayer for Today: Thank you, Father, for the witnessing power you have placed at my disposal! I will never remain the same in Jesus name, amen.

Through my works and endeavours, his power is being made manifest to my world! I am his witness everywhere I go & through my life God’s name is being glorified!
