Never underestimate the Power of the Prophetic Word because one Word from God can change your life forever. God’s Word won’t return unto him void! (Isa.55v10-11). As you can see from our text scripture in (Psalm 107 verse 20). Whatever promise he has made or said to you, he wants to bring to pass. This is why our focus in today’s lesson will be on how to experience the Prophetic Word indeed and truth. I have discovered that the people who encountered the Prophetic Word were ordinary people like me and you but what distinguished them was the kind of attributes that they possessed. If they could experience the Prophetic Word, you too can because God is no respecter of persons but of faith (Rom.10v12-13). So what kind of quality do you need to possess in order to experience the Prophetic Word? This is what I intend to share with you today and so if you are ready, here we go!

QUALITIES OF THOSE WHO ENCOUNTERED THE PROPHETIC WORD:

1. Desperate People. To experience the Prophetic Word, you need to have a strong desire or hunger for change or transformation. So how strong is your desire? Strong desires will produce strong results while weak desires will produce weak results (Matt.5v6). Hannah badly wanted a change and this was what provoked a Prophetic Word from the mouth of Eli the Prophet and High Priest. It’s time to raise your hunger level!

2. Determined People. Those who experienced the Prophetic Word never give up easily on their expectations or desires. They don’t take no for an answer. They press on in the face of opposition and challenges. This is exactly what the friends of the paralytic man in (Mk.2 v1-5) did. They kept pushing until the Prophetic Word came forth from the mouth of Jesus. You too must not give up until the Prophetic Word comes through for you (Lk.5v1-8).

3. Diligent People. To experience the Prophetic Word, you must be willing to do what you have been told to do. You must be willing to carry God’s instruction to the letter. This is another attribute of those who experience the Prophetic Word. Are you ready to carry out his Instructions? At times, God’s instruction does not make sense but it certainly produces signs. So, my dear reader, you need the courage and wisdom to act on what he said to you, for this is one of the conditions of Experiencing the fulfillment of his Word (Jn.2v1-8). So it’s time for you to rise up to the challenge. It’s time to act on what he told you. I can guarantee that you won’t be put to shame in Jesus name, amen.

4. Defiant People. Yes, you need to be Defiant at times in order to experience his promise to you. You must be willing to defy the odds, take risks and walk by faith if you will ever know the joy of the Prophetic Word. If you consider what Jesus told the 10 lepers in (Lk.17v12-14) to do, it was going against the tradition of the day because under the Law of Moses, you could only go to see the High Priest after you have been cleansed of your leprosy not before you are cleansed. They acted on the instructions of Jesus in defiance to the Law and they got their Miracle. At times, you need to act in defiance to customs and traditions in order to experience the change you desire. Are you willing to do so? I pray for courage to act on his Instructions to you today! And may your life never remain the same again in Jesus name, amen.
