Deut.8v18: And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

You are welcome back to our discussion on the need to be economically empowered. Yes, you need economic empowerment in your life as a child of God. It’s an area where God wants you to pay more attention and get the necessary equipment so that you can manifest your colourful destiny. As you can see from our text scripture, God does not give money, but He gives you power (i.e. the means, avenue, ability, resources, skills, etc.) to get wealth. The same God who did it for Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will do it also for you in Jesus name, amen (Rom.10v12-13; Gen.30v36-43).

So why should you seek and desire economic empowerment?

REASONS FOR ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT:

1. So that the world can take your Christianity more seriously. Some people will not believe or reckon with our message until we become financially empowered. I know that there are different strokes for different folks i.e. what moves one person may not move another, but there is no denying what the presence of economic empowerment can do in our lives and World. When you begin to prosper economically, you will attract the attention of the world, which will ultimately bring glory to God. Your message will not just be in words but also in deeds and truth. So it’s time for your Christianity to begin to speak and to command respect anywhere you are (Gen.26v28-29).
2. So that you can effectively meet the needs of the Kingdom of God. It takes money to reach the World for Christ. In fact, it will take a certain amount of wealth to preach the gospel to the nations of the World. This is why every child of God needs to understand that one of the major reasons why God blesses you economically is to do his work or spread the gospel. When God’s people become economically empowered, it creates a larger avenue for preaching the gospel. So it’s time for you to experience financial freedom. When this happens, you will be in a stronger position of spreading the good news of Jesus Christ (Lk.5v1-8). I hope you can now see the reason why you need to be economically empowered.
3. Because of the famine that is in the land. This is why you need to be economically empowered i.e. so that God can use you to bring relief and hope to countless people. There is so much poverty and suffering in our world today and there is no reason for this because there is abundance and plenty in our world. God made the earth so that everything man would ever need he has provided abundantly in the earth. However, it will take wisdom, insight, courage and determination to access these riches so that you can be a blessing to your world. Are you willing to pay the price so that you can be a blessing to your generation? (Gen.26v1-6, 12-16).

My dearly beloved ones, I hope you can see the reasons why you should be economically empowered in your life. I pray that this encounter will launch you into a new season of your life.
