John 2verse5: ‘His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.’

Whatever instructions or directives God sends our way, it is for our profit and good. Isa48v17. There are obvious reasons why God sends his words or instructions to us and this is what we will be unraveling in this series today. We can learn a lot from the testimony of Mary, the mother of Jesus, in our text scripture (John 2verse5) because she was someone who obviously had benefited and also experienced the power of obeying God’s instructions (Luk1v37-38). So, why should you focus on obeying God’s instructions?

REASONS FOR OBEYING:

1. Because God knows where your pot of blessings is. He knows where your breakthroughs in life lie. So you save yourself a lot of hassles by simply obeying his instructions. Luk5v4-6.

2. Because God knows your appointed place of provision. There are places that God has appointed to meet your needs and one of the best things you can do is to simply obey his instructions when they come to you. This is what we see at work in Elijah’s life during the time of famine. It will also make a lot of difference in your life this season if you comply with God’s instructions. 1Ki17v2, 9.

3. Because God can never lead you astray. Why is this so? Because he has your best interest at heart. This is why it’s so important for you to obey whatever he asks you to do. Ps23v2-3.

4. Because not all roads lead to the same place. Every place is not the place for you because God knows the paths that will lead to misfortune and disaster instead of peace and joy. This is another important reason for you to obey his instructions to you. I hope you are getting what I mean by this. Pro14v10.

So, my dear friends, make up your mind to obey his instructions! Let this be your resolution all the time, regardless of the situation and circumstances of life. Do this whether it’s convenient or not! For you will be setting yourself up for an enviable and glorious life! May this be your testimony in Jesus’ name, amen.
