The Foundation of a Joyful Life

Philippians verse 4: ‘Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.’

A joyful life is not automatic but has certain factors and principles at its origin. A joyful life can be yours when these factors are in operation. I believe everyone wants to be joyful but not everyone is willing to do what makes this life a reality. These are things that I intend to share with you today in this lesson. So, if you are good to go, what is the foundation of a Joyful life built on?

1. On knowing Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. This is an important principle you need to have in place if you will be joyful! No Jesus, No Joy! Because this joy is only available in Christ. This is why it’s called the Joy of the Lord. I want you to note that I am not talking about happiness here but Joy, which is one of the fruits of the recreated human spirit. So, do you know Jesus as your Lord and personal saviour? Ps105v43:21v1; Isa12v3.

2. Living in God’s presence. The presence of God is the giver, sustainer and multiplier of your joy. Because in his presence is fullness of joy. This is why you should not just visit his presence but abide and live there continually. This is why you should live if you have His oy in His fullness in your life. So my dear friends, are you willing to dwell in his presence? Ps16v11:21v6.

3. Maintain a Grateful Heart. Joy thrives in a grateful environment or heart, not a complaining or grumbling environment. God cannot survive a joyless environment. So my dear friends, if you want to live a Joyful life, always maintain a grateful disposition. Gratitude is one of the keys to unlocking, sustaining and increasing your joy. Those who are grateful will be joyful, and this is also true for the opposite. There is always something to be grateful for. So endeavour to find it out so that your joy will never be diminished. 1Thess5v18; Heb13v15.

My dear friends, it’s time to imbibe the culture of gratitude in all that you do. Be grateful for what you have and where you are! Maintain a grateful disposition all the time to experience his fullness of Joy in your life. I will see you at the top in Jesus’ name, amen.
