1Corinthians14verse40 ‘Let all things be done decently and in order’.

You are welcome back to our discussion on the acceptable rules of engagement in marriage. I am certain and convinced that you have been blessed by this series of teachings. When we do things the way they ought to be done; we are bound to get the same kind of results that God promised. I pray this will be your testimony and story in Jesus name, amen. Today, by His grace, I will be rounding off this series of teachings, but before I do that, I would like us to examine three more principles about how you ought to behave in marriage. So if you are ready, off we go!

28. Dont withhold sex from your partner as a means of punishing them. This is a practice that must be avoided if you want to make a success out of your marriage. Never use these tactics as a means of getting at your spouse or settling scores or disputes. From experience, this approach has often not helped matters. So avoid using this method by all means. And if you must withhold sex, let it be with your spouse’s consent. 1cor7v5. My Dear reader, ensure that you pay attention to this principle if you want to be a winner in your home.

29. Find common grounds in your differences. You and your partner cannot be the same. This is why you need to understand your differences and also learn how to manage them. It’s okay to be different but you should never allow your differences to separate you. There is strength in diversity, so make good use of your differences. This is why you need to find common grounds in your differences instead of just focusing on your disagreements. If you focus on the positives and find courage in handling your differences, your marriage will grow by leaps and bounds in Jesus name, amen. Pro16v4: Rom14v7

30. Never verbally abuse your partner. Don’t be a verbal abuser in your home. Use your mouth wisely. Verbal abuse includes any act of harassing, labelling, insulting, scolding, rebuking, or excessive yelling towards your spouse. It also includes derogatory terms, the delivery of statements intended to frighten, humiliate, denigrate or belittle your spouse. God made your mouths for something much better than this. So as a matter of policy, if you want peace and happiness in your home, avoid verbal abuse. If you know you are weak or guilty along these areas, seek counseling and help. Help is always available to those who will humble themselves. It’s time to start putting your mouth into the right usage by speaking life and affirming your spouse to be the best they can be. I believe that light and healing is coming into your homes from this moment. If you receive this, say a big AMEN. Pro15v1:18v21

Dearly beloved, I believe that our homes and relationships won’t be the same again after this series of teachings in Jesus name, amen.
