2Cor.13v5: Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? Unless indeed you are disqualified.

Dear friends, I hope you are imbibing the culture of stocktaking into your life and operations. As you can see from our text in 2Cor.13v5, the issue of taking stock is very important and essential. So, you too need to put pressure on stocktaking. I have also been sharing some of the advantages or things you stand to benefit from taking stock. So far, I have shared six of these benefits with you. Today by His grace, I will be sharing three more benefits with you. Here we go:

THE BENEFITS OF STOCK TAKING:

  1. It helps you to know whether you are on course or not i.e. on track or off-track. In other words, taking stock helps you to know whether you have derailed or deviated from your goals, dreams, purpose, God, His house, et cetera. Do you know it’s possible to be off track and not know? It’s possible to have departed from God without knowing. This is why you need to take regular inventory of your life. It’s never safe to build anything on assumption or presumption. The way you can be sure is to take stock of your life and things in general. Are you ready to do so from now on? (Lk.9v62;2Chro.16v7-14).
  2. It helps you to detect leakages/ruts and pluck them out. What do I mean by leakages or ruts? They are sources of drainage to your energy, finances, goals, business, et cetera, or areas of shortcomings, losses, or weak points in your life. Basically, they are things that are not going well in your life. With the principles of stocktaking at your disposal, you are able to identify the trouble spots and also proffer solutions adequately. This is what you stand to benefit from being a stock taker. So, it’s time to imbibe the culture of stock-taking into your operation (SOS.2v15).
  3. It helps you to reconcile your books/accounts. Stocktaking helps you to reconcile things and reconciliation is important if you really want to go forward in life. When you begin to take stock, it helps you to see where you are vis-à-vis where you are supposed to be. You are able to reconcile your input with your output. Stocktaking gives you the correct view or picture of things just as there is a clear difference between desires and results. So, precious child of God, I believe you can see what stock-taking will do to you, your enterprise, and life in general when you embrace this concept. There is no need to delay or hesitate; it’s time to take an audit and regular inventory of things and your life. I see you rising up to this challenge in Jesus name, amen.
