Isaiah 34verse16 ‘Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.’
One of the important things that you need to do if you are going to benefit out of the Word of God is to read it. You need to give attention to reading the Word of God, this is what is also implied in our text scripture (Isaiah 34v16).You are expected to read the Word. And I have discovered from experience that there are different kinds of readers when it comes to reading the Word of God. There are casual readers and impromptu readers. There are regular and dedicated readers. It’s important for you to know that reading God’s Word will do you a whole lot of good! This is why you need to cultivate the habit of reading God’s Word. So why do you need to read the Word of God? What good will it do for you? What are you going to benefit from reading the Word? I would like us to consider some such benefits immediately without wasting time! So here we go!
It helps you to know who God is. Jn1v1
It gives you the opportunity to learn about yourself.
It teaches you how to treat others as God intended.
It helps you to become a better person. I can tell you this from my personal experience and the experiences of other people that I know.
It will give you guidance. The Word of God is a pathfinder and compass in the journey of life. Ps119v131
It will teach you how to live by it. Matt4v4
It will keep you from sin or correct you when you sin. Ps119v11
It will make you wiser. Ps119v98
It will help you to grow in faith. I Pet2v2
It will lead you to salvation. 2Tim3v15
My dear reader, these are some of the wonderful privileges and gains that you derive from reading God’s Word! So why not decide today to make the Word of God a part of your daily routine? I guarantee you that you will never remain the same again in Jesus name amen.
