Jude 1v20: But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.
I trust that you are finding useful and profitable this series of lessons on “Praying in the Spirit.” Praying in tongues is good for you as a believer and it’s one of the best things that can ever happen to your prayer life. You see the prayer language you got from the Holy Spirit is not for decoration but to empower and transform your life. So, it’s time for you to access the benefits of praying in tongues in your life. From our last lesson, I shared 2 of these benefits with us. Today by His grace, we shall be looking at some other benefits of this great blessing to your prayer life.
Benefits of praying in the Spirit:
iii. It’s a direct means of speaking to God. I don’t know about you, but I prefer a direct line or access to God instead of an intermediary or middle man. This is what praying in tongues does for you. When you pray in tongues, you are speaking directly to God without any interference or obstacle. Not even men or the devil and his cohorts can interfere with this access to God (1Cor.14v2). So my dear reader, it’s time to maximize this benefit to your full advantage.
iv. It opens you to an unlimited dimension in the place of prayer. This is one thing praying in understanding cannot do for you. I don’t know about you but have you been in the place of praying in understanding and you wanted to worship God deeper but you couldn’t because you seem to have exhausted all the words or adjectives that you know to qualify God? I have been there many times but one thing that bailed me out was praying in tongues because praying in tongues gives you an unlimited dimension of communicating and ministering to God. The truth of the matter is that when you pray in tongues, your spirit man is actually praying or communing with God. This is why it offers you a richer and robust dimension in the place of prayer. So, it’s time for you to tap into the unlimited dimension of praying in tongues (1Cor.14v14). It’s time for your spirit man to commune with your heavenly father intimately and strongly.
v. It helps you to access the wisdom of God. How is this possible? It’s possible because when you speak in tongues, you are speaking wisdom in a mystery. This is what the scriptures says in (1Cor.14v2). Praying in tongues gives you access to God’s wisdom and the wisdom of God is something you cannot do without. You need answers/solutions to the issues of life and praying in tongues will give you this access by helping you to know what to do or where to go. So it’s time to pray out God’s wisdom by praying in tongues. Will you begin today?
