Jos.1v1-2: After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying, “Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all these people, to the land which I am giving to them- the children of Israel.
The steps that you take impact greatly on the outcomes you get in life. This is why you need to be an action-oriented person; otherwise, your destiny will not open up for you. This is part of what God was saying to Joshua in chapter 1v1-2. God wanted him to be decisive in his actions. As long as he listened to the voice of God, you can see that this ultimately changed his life and story. Are you ready for decisive actions? By the way, what do I mean by Decisive Actions? They are:
- Timely actions or moves. It’s not just important to move but to move at the right time (Eccle.3v1).
- Necessary Actions/Moves. Essentially, these are right or positive actions that are necessary for you to take (Lk.15v17-20).
- Actions that impact on your life/destiny. It’s your decision that determines your destiny. So you need to pay attention to the kind of moves you are making if you will ever fulfil your colourful destiny.
My dear reader, it’s time to begin to take seriously the kind of actions that you are taking. I know that there are some things God will do for you, but there are also things that you only can do. So it’s time to stop being idle. Nothing happens until something moves! Action always beats intention, and besides, you will only be remembered by what you did not/what you said. So what are the things that will help you in taking decisive actions? They are as follows:
HOW TO TAKE DECISIVE ACTIONS
- Just start. If you wait for perfect conditions, you will not get anything done in your life. So start makingthe moves you said you would make. Start going in the direction of your dreams/goals. Start moving! Say no to every form of idleness or passivity. By every possible means, just move. Start moving in the direction of your goals and dreams. Start today. Start where you are now. Start with what you have. You will get there if you faint not in Jesus name, amen (Eccle.11v4).
- Move based on your convictions. Act on your convictions and not on what is convenient. Follow your heart and not your head. This is what Nehemiah did, and I also believe that this was instrumental in his successfully rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. So take actions based on your convictions and persuasion. Never make any move based on suspicion and fear. Follow your heart and your instincts. It will never lead you astray and you will never be put to shame. So why don’t you start from today? (Rom.14v5)

Prayer for Today: Precious Holy Spirit, I receive courage and wisdom in making the right moves on time.
CONFESSION: I choose to be a man of action and not just a man full of words. I embrace the concept of taking decisive actions. I refuse to dilly dally or procrastinate. I develop a bias for taking action and not just making promises. As I move myself, my world is also moving. I am moving closer to the fulfilment of my destiny. The forces of God and of nature are working together for my good, and I will never be ashamed.
