Gen.31v1-6: Now Jacob heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, “Jacob has taken away all that was our father’s, and from what was our father’s he has acquired all this wealth”. And Jacob saw the countenance of Laban, and indeed it was not favourable toward him as before. Then the Lord said to Jacob, “return to the land of your fathers and to your family, and I will be with you”. So Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field, to his flock, and said to them, “I see your father’s countenance, that it is not favourable toward me as before; but the God of my father has been with me. And you know that with all my might I have served your father.

My Dearly Beloved Ones, the Almighty God made you for Success. Success is part and parcel of your rich heritage in Christ. So it’s time to manifest it to your World. It’s time for your light to shine. And what I have been sharing with you so far in this series are the keys to succeeding at whatever you do. Today by his grace, I would like us to look at another powerful key in succeeding at whatever you may be doing. So if you are ready, off we go!

KEYS TO SUCCEEDING AT WHAT YOU DO:

1. Saying No to the Nay sayers. Yes, you need to stop listening to this kind of people. Why do you need to do this? Because it will rob you of your time, energy, resources, focus, direction, drive and momentum just to mention a few. You need to know that whatever you give your attention to will dominate and control your life. And one sure way of failing is to listen to everyone. This is why you need to be selective with the kind of company you keep. So stay away from the nay sayers and by the way, who are these kinds of people? They are made of critics, negative people, haters, enemies (known and unknown), skeptics, envious People, Ex Champion, Expired Leaders etc. This people also tell you can’t achieve your goals and dreams. Stop listening to people who are not going anywhere and who are already set in your ways. These kinds of people will limit you and stop you from accomplishing your dreams. So you need to be on guard as much as possible if you want to really succeed (Pro.27v17; Mk.4v24).

I have discovered that listening to Nay Sayers will do the following things to you:

– Distract you from pursuing your goals and dreams (Lk.9v62).

– Discourage you from accomplishing your dreams. You already have enough things that are currently a source of discouragement so you don’t want to add more to your discouragement (1Sam.30v6).

– Derail you from your course and objectives. At times, people start out very well but along the line, they get derailed (2Tim.4v7). So take heed lest you get off course. Keep your eyes on your mission and destination.

– Dissipate your time, energy, and resources.

– Defeat you if you listen long enough to them. This is what happened to the children of Israel in the wilderness, they allowed themselves to be influenced negatively by the evil report of the 10 spies. Thus, robbing themselves of their inheritance.

My dear reader, this is why you should stop listening to every contrary voice or voices because it’s capable of hindering you from becoming a success in what you do. Make sure you are listening instead to the right kind of Voices so that you can fulfill your colorful destiny. May this be your testimony in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: I say no to every negative people around me. I refuse to listen to them. I choose wisely what I listen to. I surround myself with the right kind of people. I choose to walk with wise and stronger people. Therefore, my life is being changed from glory to glory. I move in the direction of my God given purpose because I follow the right kind of people in Jesus name, amen.
