Psalm 46verse1. ‘God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.’

These are trying times and it’s important for you to know how to stay strong in such a time as this. This is why God is bringing this message your way today because he wants you to know how to respond in a time of crisis. There are different kinds of trials. Some trials are orchestrated by Satan, while some come as a result of our own carelessness or errors. Some trials are even allowed by God but you need to know this precious child of God that no matter what kind of trial, you were made to be Victorious.1Jn5v4-5: Rom8v31.

So how can you stay Strong in a time of Trial? This is what I want us to consider now. You can stay Strong in Trying Times by:

1. Making God your Refuge.

This is why our text scripture (Ps46v1) refers to God as our Refuge. Since this is who God is, have you really made him your refuge?

To make God your Refuge means you have:

Made him your hiding place or place of strength. This also implies that God is now your comfort and shelter. Ps9v9

Your trust and confidence are now in him. Jehovah is now your stronghold and the one you confide in.

My dear brothers and sisters, these are just some of what it means to make Jehovah your Refuge. Jehovah will be in a better and stronger position to save you when you take him as your refuge. So why not take him as your refuge from this hour so that you can enjoy his help, protection, and preservation in these times and seasons that we live in. Ps62v7.

2. Fortify Yourself with the Right kind of Relationships.

In prosperity, your friends know you, but you know your friends in times of adversity. Pro13v20. One of the ways by which you can succeed in a time of trouble is to have the right kind of Friends Around you. I am not just talking about any kind of friend but friends that will inspire, challenge, rebuke, and even motivate you in a time of trouble. Friends that won’t abandon you in your time of need. Friends who will stand with you through the thick and thin. Friends that identify with your success and struggles. These are the kinds of friends that you need around you in a time of trial. So, who is influencing you? What kind of friends do you have in your life? It’s time to do an audit of your association. It’s time for you to start walking with people who can help you overcome the adversities of life. 1cor15v33: Pro27v17

I pray that you will not lack the gift of true friendship in this season of life.
