Deut.8v18: And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

You can be economically empowered if you know the secrets behind financial prosperity. Nothing just happens, but things are made to happen! There are proven and tested secrets of economic empowerment and these secrets can be yours with the right mentality and attitude. In fact, as a child of God, you are meant to understand these secrets (Pro.3v32; Ps.25v14). My focus in this series of teachings is to share with you the secrets that will cause you to be financially empowered. It’s a known fact and truth that God gives you the ability to prosper and he does so through these hidden truths. As you embark on this journey with me, may you experience a total financial turnaround in your life. So what are the secrets that will change your financial story? They are as follows:

HOW TO PROSPER ECONOMICALLY

  1. Partner with God concerning your finances. To prosper economically requires you to partner with God in your finances. Make him your financial partner. How can you do this? You do this by honouring God with or in your finances. Honouring God means you hold him in high esteem and giving him the right to tell you what to do in your finances. It also means you give God what is right and befitting (Ps.29v1-2; Isa.43). From experience, many children of God struggle financially because God is not being honoured in their finances. The truth of the matter is that God does not need your money, it’s the honour behind it that matters. Our covenant Fathers (i.e. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob) prospered because they honoured God in their finances (Gen.14v18-20: 22v1-3, 16-18: 28v20-22). So it’s time for you too to begin to honour God in your finances. This is one of the best decisions you can ever make with regard to your finances. Why do I say this? Because by so doing:

    – God becomes involved in your financial life/operations.
    – It opens you up to the blessing/assistance of God (Pro.10v22).

My dearly beloved ones, it’s time to make God your financial partner. I believe you are ready for this, so how can God be involved in your finances? You honour God in your finances by becoming a GIVER or SOWER. A giver is a channel that God and money can flow through. Givers are people who take delight in giving. They give willingly and joyfully (2Cor.9v7; Pro.22v9; Isa.32v20). Givers are generous people and generous people are Prosperous People. So can you say you are a giver? Are you a giver or a withholder? (Pro.11v24-25). We need to overcome all forms of struggles or contention associated with giving if we want to prosper financially.

I pray that your deliverance starts from this moment in Jesus name, amen. So as a giver, how do you honour God in your finances? You do so by:

  • Supporting God’s work through your tithes/offerings (Mal.3v8-12; 2Cor.9v6-8, 11). Your tithe is 10 per cent of all that you make, while your offerings are your voluntary donations to God’s house.
  • Obeying God directives/instructions as per who and where to sow or give your money or donations. God is also in the business of giving you specific directives as to where to sow or give your finances (Philip.4v15-19).

My dear reader, as you honour God through these avenues, you will experience what no man can do for you. The blessings of economic empowerment will be yours as you engage the weapon of honouring God in your finances. I pray for you from today that as you honour God in this way, may you experience the uncommon help and favour of God.

Prayer for Today: Lord, enlarge my capacity to give. Bestow on me today the giving grace in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: I do away with the spirit of greed, covetousness and fraudulency. I embrace the giving spirit. I say yes to the spirit of generosity and I also say No to the spirit of stinginess. I take delight in giving. Giving delights my soul. I am a joyous, faithful and generous giver. I give cheerfully of my substance to God’s work and the needy. My giving connects me to God’s miraculous supply. And I believe and receive this in Jesus name, amen.
