Colossians 3verse16 ‘ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.’

God’s plan and intention is for you to be totally saturated or immersed with his Word. Another way we can say this is that he wants you to be soaked or baptized with his Word. This is why he says in our text scripture (Colossians 3verse16) that the Word of Christ should dwell in you richly. The Word richly means copiously or abundantly. In other words, God wants his Word to inhabit you. However, if this will be a reality in your life, you have a part to play because it won’t just happen like that or overnight. So how can his words saturate your life? His words can dominate your life as you begin to do the following things:

-Give more attention to his Word. Or by giving undivided attention to his Word. Pro4v20.
-Inclining your ears to His Word. Pro5v1.
-By not allowing his words to depart from your eyes. Pro4v21.
-By meditating in his word day and night. Ps1v3

These are some of the important actions that you need to take daily or consistently if his Word will dwell richly in you. You need to make these actions part and parcel of your life and not just something you do occasionally. So what are the benefits or results effects of saturating yourself with his Word? They are quite many, but I would just focus on three of them today and they are as follows:

1. The Word will begin to abide or dwell in you. The effect of this is that it enables you to bear more fruits and also grants you access to your prayers. Jn15v4-7.

2. The Word will begin to change your life for the better. You will experience a complete makeover by his Word. 2Cor3v18.

3. The Word takes root in you. I mean your spirit man or inner consciousness. This is where his Word needs to get to if it will really benefit you like it ought. Pro8v34-35.

So, my dear brothers and sisters, what are you waiting for? It’s time to get busy getting his Word into you. It’s time to get soaked in his Word. As you get saturated with His Word, your life will never remain the same again in Jesus name, amen. If you believe this, can I hear a resounding amen?
