Psalm 37verse7-8. ‘Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. V8-Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil’.

I hope you are enjoying this series of lessons on resting in God. It pays to rest in God because the benefits far outweigh what you will go through if you do not rest in God. God is calling you and me to a walk of rest. It’s time to cease your own labors and start trusting more in your own efforts. You must also note that resting in God doesn’t mean you are to do nothing else, so remember that you still have a part to play in the process. It’s time for you to start operating from the position of resting in the finished works of Christ. From our last lesson, I shared with you how you can rest in God. Today, by his grace, I will be sharing two more ways by which you can come to a place of resting in God. If you are ready, let’s examine these principles right away.

HOW TO REST IN GOD

3. By resting in his provisions for you. This is what resting in God connotes. Resting in God means having confidence in God’s provisions for you. One thing about God’s provisions is that it’s more than enough. His provisions never fail or cease; this is why it’s dependable. If you really trust in his provisions, you will not worry about how your needs will be met because his provisions cover your present, past, and even tomorrow. So, my dear brothers and sisters, it’s time to start trusting God’s provisions that can never fail. No matter how big or great your need may be, his provisions are more than enough. This revelation gives you greater assurance and hope that everything will work together for your good. if you believe this, say a big amen. 1Cor2v9-10: Ps68v19

4. By resting in his plans for you. This is another dimension of resting in God. Those who rest in God also have confidence in his plans for them. My dear reader, are you persuaded of his plans for you? Do you know that God’s plans are the best and failure-proof? If you do, this is why you need to rest in your God. Stop agitating or being fearful or fretful! God is not a God of abandonment; he is a finisher and completer! Because his plans for you are good and the best. You have no business worrying or anxieties. So, rest in his plans for your life. Jer29v11: Pro19v21

My dearly beloved ones, I hope you have been able to see what it means to rest in God! So what are you waiting for? It’s time to rest in God with all your heart!
