Resting in God 2

Psalm 37verse7-8. ‘Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. V8-Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil’.

You are welcome back to our discourse on resting in God. God wants to grant you rest on all sides and also in your spirit, soul, and body. In our first lesson, I explained what the concept of rest is all about. Today by his grace, I will be sharing with you how you can rest in God. There are ways of resting in God and there are ways of not resting in God. If you are ready for this, let’s examine this principle of resting in God.

HOW TO REST IN GOD

1. By resting in his word. When you put your trust in God or his word, you invariably put your trust in God. Dearly beloved ones, in whom are you trusting? Is it in men, systems, governments, or policies? It’s time to put your trust in God, for that is how to rest in God. Let your confidence be in his words that never fail or disappoint. Ps118v8-9;20v7.

2. By resting in his Love. To rest in his love is to rest in God. This simply means to be confident or assured of God’s love for you. My dearly beloved ones, when you are persuaded of his Love for you, you know that your provisions will be guaranteed. This also means that you won’t be stranded or put to shame. This is an important revelation that you have about your life. His love for you will never fail or disappoint, so rest assured that your tomorrow will be all right. So it’s time to rest in his Love for you. Rom8v35,37-39.

Are you ready to rest in God? Are you willing to trust his promises? Are you persuaded of his love for you? The answers you give to these questions will determine whether you will experience the rest of God or not. I pray that your answers will be positive in Jesus name, amen. CONFESSION: I rest in his promises which can never fail! I rest in his love for me which never ceases. Because I am persuaded of his promises and love for me, I know that my tomorrow shall be all right! Glory be to Jesus; the blessings of his rest are mine!
