Reasons Why You Should Develop Your Prayer Life 1

1 Thessalonians 5 verse 17:  ‘Pray without ceasing.’

Are there reasons why you need to grow and develop your prayer Life? The answer is a definite Yes! There are a lot of reasons why your heavenly father wants you to develop your prayer Life and these reasons will be the focus of our discussion today in this series. Pro16v4 So what are some of the reasons why God wants you to have a prayer life and also pray without ceasing?

1. So that you can grow or develop your spiritual life. As a believer, you have a spiritual life that has to be sustained and nourished. The ingredient for nourishing your spiritual life is your prayer Life. So, I believe that you can now see why it’s important to develop your prayer life because your prayer life will invariably help you grow spiritually. Your spiritual life and growth are enabled and energized by your prayer Life. This is why most people struggle to grow spiritually; they don’t have a prayer life. Mk1v35; Col4v12. So my dear friends, know that your spiritual life is connected to your prayer Life. This is obviously why you need to develop your prayer Life.

2. So as prevail in the battles of life. Life is spiritual and also a battle. Those who will prevail must first prevail in the place of prayer. Do you want to win in the battles of life? Then you need to start paying attention to your prayer Life. Two-thirds of you are spiritual (Spirit and soul), so how do you want to win in this life if you are not equipped spiritually for it? My dear friends, developing your prayer Life helps you win the battles of life. There are several examples of people who prevail in life because they prevailed in their prayer life. Some of these examples are as follows:

 -Daniel in the lion’s den. Dan6v10

-Jehoshaphat when he was confronted by three powerful nations. 2Chro20v1-26

-The Early Church. Acts2v42: 4v23-24, 31: 6v4

God knows that life is a battlefield, hence the reason why he has given you the weapon of prayer to prevail in the battle. So it’s time to prevail in the place of prayer so as to secure your colourful destination. Are you ready to rise up to this challenge?
