Pro.26v2: Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, so a curse without cause shall not alight.

I know we all want to get answers to our prayers whenever we pray but this is often not the case with everybody’s prayer. Not everyone receives answers to their prayers. Why is this so? Well, this is what this series of teachings is all about and I believe you will be greatly blessed at the end of the day! From our foundation scripture in (Pro.26v2), it is clear that there are reasons behind every consequence or to put it in another way; there is no curse without a cause. I have discovered that there are reasons why some of our prayers are not answered. Knowing these reasons will enable us to know what to do in order for our prayers to be answered. So why are some prayers answered and some other ones not answered? Join me in this eventful journey as we seek answers to this bugging question. So off we go!

THE REASONS FOR UNANSWERED PRAYERS:

1. Not in a living relationship with God. Yes, this is one of the major reasons for unanswered prayers. Many people are trying to reach a God that they don’t know. So how can you pray to someone you don’t know? The reality is that it’s difficult to access help from someone you don’t know. So how would you describe your relationship with God? Do you know him as your Lord and Savior? This is the starting point in receiving answers to your prayers. The problem we have is that many people are trying to touch or reach a God they don’t even know. Doing this will make it difficult for you to receive answers to your prayers (Acts 17v23). So put first things first. Enter into a living relationship with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour if you want to be successful in the art of prayer (Pro.15v8).

2. Not praying according to the rules of prayer. There are laws that govern prayers and you need to be familiar with them if you want to be successful in your prayer life. It’s easier to muddle up all prayers but you need to realize that some laws or rules govern different kinds of prayer. The rules guiding different kinds of prayers are not the same. For instance, the rules governing the prayer of faith are not the same governing the prayer of intercession. So if you want to be successful in your prayers, you need to know the rules that govern the kind of prayer you are praying. It’s just like some ball games such as football, volleyball, baseball, netball, basketball, handball etc. The rules governing these ball games are not the same even though they all use balls in their games. I hope you can see the lesson in what I am trying to say (Eph.6v18).

So my dear reader, if you want to be successful in your prayers, know the rules that govern the kind of prayer you are praying. This is how to get answers to your prayers.

Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, help me understand the rules that govern different kinds of prayers so that I can succeed in my prayer expeditions in Jesus’ name, amen.

CONFESSION: I believe in the power of prayers when I pray to get answers to my prayers. I don’t pray in vain because the secrets of answered prayers belong to me. The joy of answered prayers is mine, for when I pray to my heavenly father, heaven responds to my pleas and cries. Therefore, I shall not be put to shame nor ridiculed because the God that answers by fire is my God. Glory be to his name, for this is my testimony and song in Jesus’ name, amen.
