Luke 12v16-21: “Then he spoke a parable to them, saying: The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully and he thought within himself, saying, ‘what shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ So he said, ‘I will do this; I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

I trust that this series of teachings on honouring God in our lives has been of great benefit and blessings to you. Putting God first is often a neglected part of our worship that needs to be properly addressed because of the great benefit and impact it can have on any life that is fully surrendered to the Lord. I pray that your life and walk with the Lord will never be the same again. Today by His grace, I intend to share other areas of our lives that we need to honour the Lord. So, if you are ready, let’s find out what God has to say.

AREAS TO PUT GOD FIRST IN YOUR LIFE:
8. In your prosperity. Yes, you need to put God first in your moment of prosperity. At times, some believers do not seem to remember the Lord in their hours of blessings, favour, breakthroughs or peace. But this is simply not honouring God in their prosperity. This was the problem of the rich fool in (Luke 12v16-21). He completely forgot God. God was not in all his plans or intention with the harvest he got. We must not make the same kind of mistake if we really want to live a life of satisfaction and fulfillment. So, I urge you today to always honour God in your moment of success, because this is the key to enduring success and progress in life (2Chronicles 26v5, 16).

9. In your sexuality. Is God first in your sexuality? Do you honour God with your body or do you use it anyhow? Is God first in your sexual desires, urges and feelings? Honouring God in your body is so vitally important and crucial. As the Lord’s temple, you can’t live anyhow or live recklessly. You need to keep your vessels in satisfaction and purity. This is the honorable thing to do. I know that we are living in a world filled with defilement and corruption but it’s still possible to maintain sexual purity if God is first in your sexuality (1Thessalonians 4v3-7). This is why you need to surrender your sexuality to the Lord. Let him truly be your master and lord. Allow him to rule and reign in your body so that he can be glorified at the end of the day. Are you ready to surrender? Are you willing to allow the Lord to have His way? I believe your answer to these questions is a ‘yes’. I rejoice with you from today, because you are entering into a new form of dominion over your flesh and body. You will begin to gain mastery over your body from today because of your decision to honour the Lord in your sexuality. Chastity pays a great dividend and I want you to know that you will not be put to shame in Jesus name, amen.

Prayer for Today: Lord, I acknowledge you as the Lord over my prosperity and peace. I acknowledge you as lord over my body and sexuality in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: Lord, I put your first in my prosperity and sexuality. You are the Lord over my breakthroughs and blessings. You are the Lord over my body and sexuality. I pledge to honour you with my blessings and prosperity for you are the source of my prosperity and joy. I pledge to honour you with my body and sexuality for my body is your dwelling place. All that I have belongs to you and comes from the Lord; therefore, I surrender to your leadership and wisdom. Lord be magnified in my body and sexuality. Let the whole world see your glory through my prosperity and sexuality in Jesus name, amen.
